异柠檬酸 isocitric acid是柠檬酸的异构体，虽然量少，但广泛存在于生物界。在落地生根属（Bryophyllum）等多汁植物的叶、或悬钩子类中特别多，生物能够利用的是D型。是三羧酸循环中的一个成分。柠檬酸在乌头酸酶的作用下可逆地生成异柠檬酸和顺乌头酸。在异柠檬酸脱氢酶（EC1．1．1．41）的作用下变成a-酮戊二酸，在异柠檬酸裂合酶（isocitrate lyase，EC4．1．3．1）的作用下变成琥珀酸与乙醛酸。
